# What is a Blok

> A Blok groups several steps of a flow into a single node that is versioned and shared.

On the Canvas, a flow is built from **steps**: open a screen, read a value, decide, write. When several steps solve a recurring task together, it pays to give them a name. That is a **Blok**.

## Group

Select the steps on the Canvas and group them. The result is a single node with:

- a name and a description,
- the steps it carries inside (open it to edit them),
- the inputs and outputs it exposes to the rest of the flow.

"Ungroup" turns it back into separate steps.

## Version

Every Blok has versions: v1, then v2. Flows that already use a version keep working when you publish the next one, so improving a Blok breaks nobody.

## Share

A Blok is shared with people or groups, or published to the organization's **Blok library**. From there, any flow can insert it as one more step.

That is how you build in Blokera: one block at a time.
